Hi there from San Francisco and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
We have had a brilliant last week taking in the high deserts of New Mexico, The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. We drove the California coastline arriving in San Francisco last night.
We are staying with Peter, a friend we made whilst camping on the edges of Yosemite way back at the end of July! He has opened his home to us and played tour-guide this morning showing us the Marina Area of San Fran, driving us down the famous zig-zag Lombard Street, walking across the Golden Gate Bridge followed by a cafe stop in Sausalito!!
We are back home now and about to russle up a big Thanksgiving dinner together. Nicole and I are very excited about the chance to cook in a real kitchen with more than one pot again!!
The biggest highlight for me this week was the spontaneous chance to catch up with a good friend from Physio School days. Karen was an international student from Vancouver, abnd we spent 4 years together at PT School and flatted one year too.
She is now married to Eric and has two very cute kids - Rachel and Tyler. Eric is from L.A and on Sunday they contacted me to say they could buy tickets to come down to L.A the next day and catch up! So - that's what happened and we were able to stay at Eric's Mom's place (Barbara) in Orange County (near Disneyland) & were recipients of some very warm Anmerican hospitality once again. On Tuesday Karen came with us for a few hours and we went to Venice Beach together - of Muscle Beach fame - enjoying the sun and the most amazing pizza ever!! Thanks so much Karen and Eric for making this work - it was soooooo good to catch up after 10 years (and meet Eric for the first time) - see you again before 10 years passes we hope!
So...only a week left in the US now. We are heading north for a little and also to Yosemite again before a couple days back in San Fran. Will be home again on the 6th. Maybe one more blog entry before then...and some pics about to be put up now finally - enjoy!!
Lotsa love to you all!
Marty

Excellent job; the United States will miss you two. You should keep this blog alive since, my guess, is that your adventures are only beginning!
